Privacy policy
Updated October 2026
This policy covers casino-optibet.com, an independent information site, in all its language versions. It does not cover the gambling operators we write about, or the partner offers our partner links lead to: they have their own privacy policies. There is no registration, no user account and no payment on this site, so the data we handle is limited. Below is the complete list, why we need each item and what you can do about it.
Who is responsible for your data
The controller of personal data is the operator of the website casino-optibet.com. For any question about how your data is processed, write to info@casino-optibet.com. We are not a gambling operator, and we are not a representative of Optibet or any other operator. That means we have no access to, and no way of seeing, the data you gave to a casino when you registered there.
What we process, why, and on what legal basis
| Data | Purpose | Legal basis under the GDPR |
|---|---|---|
| Server logs: IP address, time of request, page requested, browser type | Running the site, security, preventing attacks and fixing errors | Legitimate interests, Article 6(1)(f) |
| Analytics data, for example from Google Analytics: pages visited, device type, approximate location, cookie identifiers | Aggregated statistics on which pages are read and which need improving | Consent, Article 6(1)(a), where the law requires it; otherwise legitimate interests for aggregated statistics |
| Emails to info@casino-optibet.com: your address, your name if you give it, and the content of the message | Answering your question or correcting an error you reported | Legitimate interests in replying to your message |
What we do not collect
We never ask for, and do not process, national identity numbers, copies of documents, bank or card details. We do not build visitor profiles for advertising and we do not sell data. If you send us such information by email anyway, perhaps by mistake while trying to reach an operator, we do not use it and we delete it.
Partner links and your data
When you click a button labelled “Partner offer”, your browser opens an address belonging to a partner network. The link carries an identifier that tells the network the visit came from our site. We do not pass on your name, email or any other personal data at that moment. Like any website you visit, the network sees the technical data your browser sends, such as your IP address. From there on, your data is handled by the partner network and the operator under their own privacy policies. Read those as carefully as the terms before registering, and check that the company is licensed; if you are in Latvia, that means finding it on the VID list of licensed gambling organisers. Details are on the affiliate disclosure page.
Who else processes data, and transfers
Data may be processed by service providers that help us run the site: the hosting and content delivery provider (server logs), an analytics provider such as Google (statistics) and an email provider (correspondence). Some of them may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, the transfer is protected by the mechanisms the GDPR provides for, such as European Commission adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses. We do not sell data and we do not hand it to advertisers.
How long we keep it
- Server logs: for a short period, as long as needed for security and troubleshooting, following the hosting provider's cycle.
- Analytics: according to the retention setting configured in the analytics tool; we use the reports in aggregated form.
- Emails: as long as needed to resolve your question and any follow-up on the same matter, after which we delete them.
Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation you have the right to:
- access your data and receive information about how it is processed;
- rectify data that is inaccurate;
- erase data where there is no longer a basis for processing it;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- restrict processing in certain cases and withdraw consent at any time;
- lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your country of residence.
To use any of these rights, write to info@casino-optibet.com. The more precisely you describe the data in question, for example the address you wrote from and roughly when, the faster we can find it. Please note that server logs and analytics are not linked to names, so it is not always possible to identify such records reliably as yours.
Children
This site is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data about minors. If you learn that a minor has sent us personal data, let us know and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how data is processed, for instance by adding a new analytics tool or switching provider, we will update this page and the date at the top first. Significant changes will be noted at the beginning of the page.
Cookies: which ones we use and how to refuse them
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Because this site has no accounts and no logins, it does not need session cookies to keep you signed in. We do use analytics cookies, such as those set by Google Analytics, to understand how many people read a page, on what kind of devices, and which pages people fail to find. We look at these numbers in aggregate, not as profiles of individuals.
You can refuse analytics cookies at any time: block third-party cookies in your browser settings, delete cookies already stored, or install the browser add-on Google provides for opting out of Google Analytics. If the site shows you a cookie choice, your choice is respected. Every page, link and feature of this site works without analytics cookies.
When you register with an operator: what happens to your data there
Signing up at a gambling site involves far more data than anything you share with us: usually your name, date of birth, address, document details for the identity check with an ID card or a passport, payment information and a full transaction history. The operator processes all of this as a separate controller under its own privacy policy, and requests for access or deletion go to its support, not to us. Before handing any of it over, make sure you are on the genuine site and that the company named in the terms is licensed; if you are in Latvia, look for it on the VID list of licensed gambling organisers. Our page on mirror links and look-alike domains explains why that step matters.
