How to deposit — and how to check who receives the money
Depositing is the simplest thing you will do on a gambling site, which is exactly why it deserves thirty extra seconds of attention. This guide explains how to deposit with the common methods and adds one check most guides leave out: comparing the recipient name you see during the payment with the company that holds the licence. It applies to Optibet in the same way as to any other operator. The overview of every method is on the payments page.
The set of methods and limits depends on the operator and your account — check the cashier.
Partner offerDeposit steps
- Before you pay, find the company. Open the site's terms and conditions and note the name of the company that runs it. If you are in Latvia, look that company up in the list of licensed gambling organisers published by VID, the State Revenue Service. Elsewhere, use your own regulator's register.
- Open the cashier. Log in, go to the deposit section and look at which deposit methods are listed for your account.
- Choose a method and an amount. The minimum deposit and any maximum are normally shown next to the method once you select it.
- Approve the payment and read the recipient. Your bank, card app or wallet will ask you to confirm. The confirmation screen usually names the merchant or recipient — compare it with the company from step one.
- Check the balance and keep the receipt. Save the confirmation with date, amount and reference until the money shows up in your account.
| Method | How you usually confirm | Where the recipient shows | Guide |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bank transfer | In your online banking | Recipient name and IBAN in the transfer form | Bank transfer |
| Visa | Card form, then often the bank app (3-D Secure) | Approval screen and card statement | Visa |
| Mastercard | Card form, then often the bank app | Approval screen and card statement | Mastercard |
| Skrill | Log-in to the e-wallet | Wallet transaction history | Skrill |
| Paysafecard | Entering the voucher PIN | Often only the site itself — check the company first | Paysafecard |
| Bitcoin | Sending from your own wallet | Nowhere — an address has no name | Bitcoin |
| USDT | Sending on the network the cashier names | Nowhere — an address has no name | USDT |
Minimum deposit
We do not quote a minimum deposit for Optibet or anyone else, because it is set per method and per account and it changes. The figure that counts is the one the cashier shows after you pick a method. If that minimum is higher than you meant to spend, do not round your plans up to meet it — choose another method or simply skip it. A small first deposit is also the best test you can run: for example, paying in €10 or €20 lets you see the recipient name, the time it takes and the statement line before larger sums are involved.
When the money appears
A card or wallet payment is often credited quickly once you approve it, a bank transfer can take longer depending on the banks involved, and crypto waits for network confirmations. Those are general patterns, not promises for any particular operator. If a site advertises a fixed time, look for the same figure in its payment terms — that is the version it is bound by.
Good to know
- Pay only from an account, card or wallet in your own name. A payment from a partner's or friend's account can block a later withdrawal.
- If a bonus is involved, read its conditions before the deposit: some offers exclude certain methods or require a specific amount. See bonus terms.
- Set a deposit limit in your account before the first payment, not after — it is quicker than undoing a bad decision.
- Never pay a “deposit” to bank details, a wallet address or a voucher code sent to you in a private message.
After depositing: limits first, then play
Once the balance arrives, take a minute to look at the responsible-gambling settings: deposit limits, loss limits and session reminders, if the site offers them. Our page on responsible gambling explains what each tool does. It is also the right moment to check how payouts work, because many operators pay out only to an account in your name. Our guide to withdrawals and identity checks covers that side.
If a deposit hasn't shown up
Start with your bank or wallet: if the money has not left, the payment simply did not go through and nothing is lost. If it has left, write to the operator's support with the date, amount, method and reference, and keep the conversation. Common causes are a missing reference on a bank transfer, a declined approval or, with crypto, the wrong network. If the recipient turns out to be a company that is not named in the site's terms, contact your bank at once and read our page on complaints.
Deposit methods vary from cashier to cashier, and the list you see can depend on your country and account. Card and wallet payments are often described as an instant deposit; transfers and crypto usually take longer to fund account balances. Whatever the method, the order of checks stays the same: company in the terms, recipient on the screen, receipt saved.
